Working together: shared goals is the most important factor
For the first time, four bank foundations and a private foundation are working together in favour of two important initiatives abroad, to assist uprooted people in northern Uganda and to support rural populations in Senegal.
Compagnia di San Paolo, Fondazione Cariparma, Fondazione Cariplo and the Fondazione Monte dei Paschi di Siena, with the financial contribution also of the Fondazione UMANO PROGRESSO, by instituting a co-planning mechanism with partners implementing operations in the field, have worked together to prepare and manage these projects with the aid of numerous agencies and institutions, contributing not only financial resources but also planning abilities and experience gained over the years.
This is evidence of the fact that today, bank foundations are living in a new era in which they are directly involved, also on the level of strategic planning, having abandoned the old logic of merely acting as distributors of financial grants. This is a result of their conviction that it is increasingly important to work in partnership for the success of major initiatives, thus making even greater resources available for use by the projects.
